Worry about the Radiation of CFL? Use led vehicle lighting!

Nowadays, some newspaper says, the Radiation of CFL (Compact Fluorescent Lamp) is very high, also, it could be harmful to people’s health. Is that true?

Actually, the CFL means the Fluorescent with self-ballast inside. These designs started in the beginning of 70′s. The advantage of CFL is that, the power consumption is much lower compared with Incandescent lamps, and also longer lifespan.But as the competition is more and more tough between the CFL suppliers. A lot of CFL manufacturer produce CFL which could not pass the IEC testing.

Eneltec (as we all know the top led high bay producer) test 87 samples from different CFL suppliers, according to the standard of IEC 62493:2009,  and found, from all these sampels, Radiation is much lower than the Mobile phones, for example, Iphone 4s.

Based on these results, if we don’t want to CFL, we should also don’t use Iphone. It seems not so possible, even the Nokia N10 is much better than Iphone 4s.

The situation is also happened in vehicle lighting. The power consumption of HID lamps are very high, compared with led vehicle lighting.  I have a good friend who works for Volkswagen, who told me more than 30% percent of vehicle lighting are turning to useled vehicle lighting. Also, Eneltec tested the Radiation of HID Lamps and led vehicle lighting, and found, the led products could be 80% better in the performance of Radiation testing.

Now, if we want to be safe from the Radiation, let’s use LED Products, CFL is the past, LED is the future!
